The series Homburger Lesezeit is starting a new, now 9th season again this September. This reading series also includes the readings from the "VLV - Vips lesen vor" series, featuring celebrities from the region.
With such a reading of "VLV," the reading season also begins this year. The kickoff takes place on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, with the Saarland Minister of Education Christine Streichert-Clivot. She will read from the book "Marzahn, mon amour" by Katja Oskamp and, as is customary in the "VLV" series, will reflect on what connects her to the book. The first regular reading of the reading season will then follow on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. Then Hannelore Bähr, an actress at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, will read texts from Arno Geiger's bestseller "The Old King in his Exile."
Christine Streichert-Clivot studied political science, sociology, and economics in Trier. In 2006, she was project manager at the DGB Saar and in 2007 managing director at the Network for Democracy and Courage Saar. From 2006 to 2009, she was an employee of the SPD Saar and studied adult education through distance learning from 2008 to 2011.
After her time as a scientific advisor, she became head of the minister's office in the Ministry of Education and Culture, followed by head of the department for "Fundamental and cross-sectional issues in education policy." After the state elections in Saarland, she was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Education in 2017. From September 18, 2019, Christine Streichert-Clivot served as Minister of Education and Culture in the Hans cabinet. Since April 26, 2022, she has held this office in the Rehlinger cabinet. She is married and has two children.
The event takes place in the municipal gallery at the Saalbau Cultural Center, Obere Allee 1, and begins at 7 PM. Admission is free. All readings will be held in accordance with the applicable Corona regulations.
