75-year-old pedestrian seriously injured

Neunkirchen. Yesterday at midday, August 26, 2022, around 1:20 PM, a serious traffic accident occurred in Neunkirchen’s Langenstrichstraße near the Upper Market. A 30-year-old driver turned his small van from Hüttenbergstraße into Langenstrichstraße. In doing so, the driver overlooked a 75-year-old pedestrian crossing the crosswalk and struck him. The man was taken to the hospital by ambulance with severe injuries. A rescue helicopter also rushed to the scene of the accident. The public prosecutor ordered an expert report. During the accident investigation, Langenstrichstraße remained completely closed for several hours.
