155 new confirmed corona cases – incidence comparable againThe health department of the regional association reports 155 new corona cases today (as of August 23, 4 p.m.). The number of newly reported cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days decreases to 278.5 according to internal calculations. This value is also comparable nationwide again, as the report from last Tuesday for the long holiday weekend is now excluded from the calculation.
7-day total of new infections by cities and municipalitiesIn the past seven days, 912 people in the regional association have been infected with the coronavirus. Of these, 465 live in Saarbrücken, 92 in Völklingen, 80 in Püttlingen, 51 in Riegelsberg, 49 in Heusweiler, 48 in Quierschied, 37 in Sulzbach, 35 in Friedrichsthal, 30 in Kleinblittersdorf, and 25 in Großrosseln.

In total, the regional association has 126,089 confirmed cases that have tested positive since the beginning of the pandemic. Of these, 68,506 are in the state capital and 57,583 in the nine towns and municipalities in the surrounding area.
