Options for a new roller sports facility are being examined
For several days, the city of Homburg has been conducting soil investigations on the site of the former outdoor pool on Brunnenstraße. The results are intended to provide insights into which construction options will be possible at this location in the future.
Specifically, it is also about examining whether a roller sports facility can find its new home here. Due to the planned sale of the site on Am Stadtbad street, where the current facility is located, the city of Homburg is looking for an alternative location. At the former outdoor swimming pool site, the infrastructure is at least already in place, and integration into the city park area is conceivable.
Mayor Michael Forster hopes for a positive result from the soil investigations: “I would like to emphasize once again the high importance of the Homburg clubs. At a new location, all necessary regulations for training and competition operations must be met in order to continue providing the best conditions for all roller sports in Homburg. Given the necessary investments for a new roller skating rink, it is essential to thoroughly examine possible sites. Therefore, we will take active measures here.”
