From August 19th to 21st, Schiffweiler celebrates its village festival for the 41st time. Visitors paraded through the festival area to the stage with a festive procession. The village festival was officially opened yesterday evening by local head Dominik Dietz, Mayor Markus Fuchs, Schellemann "De Knall" alias Tobias Tafel, and patron Minister President Anke Rehlinger. There was no usual keg tapping for Minister President Anke Rehlinger. Instead of tapping a beer keg, she had to pump at the village fountain until beer flowed from it. Traditionally, the Greifenburgers from the partner community in Austria also visited the village festival. Schellemann "Knall" once again took the opportunity to report on current events in the village.
Music fans were also not neglected at the village festival over the weekend. On Friday evening, the band Crazy performed, and on Saturday, the music continued at 8 p.m. with the band Elliot. The audience could look forward to a mix of hits from the charts of the past three decades, including many hits from the 80s, 90s, as well as some disco classics.
Earlier, at 6 p.m., guests from Greifenburg gave a concert as part of a festive church service.
Today, starting at 11 a.m., the Musikverein Harmonie invites you to a morning pint concert. A special program for children will be offered from 2:30 p.m. at Bank1 Saar. At 5 p.m., 12Saiter, also known as Volker Hassler, will provide the grand finale.
