In the district administration of the Saarpfalz district, a new training year also began on August 1st. The management is pleased about two young women who have now chosen the profession of administrative clerk, a recognized apprenticeship occupation in the public service.
Victoria Surrey from Kirkel-Neuhäusel and Michelle Frank from Waldmohr are now beginning a three-year training program at the district authority, with six weeks of block instruction per semester at the Commercial Vocational Training Center I in Saarbrücken. Here, the subjects taught include German, human resources, computer science, word processing, legal economics, personnel accounting, cost accounting, administrative studies, and foreign languages. In addition, during the practical training, there is a weekly accompanying instruction at the Saarland Administration School. Topics covered include legal subjects such as vocational training law, municipal law, police and regulatory law, civil status law, and social welfare law. Administrative organization, administrative studies, budget, cash and accounting, cost accounting, and foreign languages are also on the curriculum.
“All of this results in a very versatile profession with prospects in local government administration. I am pleased that you have chosen this path and wish to contribute to ensuring that our district as a service-oriented agency can fulfill its tasks and duties for the benefit of the citizens. We need people like you who take on this responsible role. At the same time, the district administration supports you as a reliable training institution with exciting fields of activity,” said First District Councillor Markus Schaller, a high school teacher by profession, welcoming the two trainees warmly on behalf of District Administrator Dr. Theophil Gallo.
District Administrator Dr. Theophil Gallo is looking forward to meeting the new members of the administrative staff soon. What he already wants to pass on to them: "Geniuses do not fall from the sky. They need opportunities for training and development." With these words, the social politician and publicist August Bebel (1840 – 1913) speaks from my heart. I wish our trainees much joy and motivation in a mutual give-and-take within our district administration."
