The St. Ingbert neighborhood project "Bei uns im Südviertel" has become a model project with its numerous activities and events for seniors. "Young and old together – that is exactly what makes a society strong," emphasizes Mayor Dr. Ulli Meyer and welcomes the expansion of the project to the entire St. Ingbert. The starting signal for the "new" district-wide project "Together in St. Ingbert – by seniors for seniors" was given at the beginning of August 2022 during a joint lunch of seniors at the Rohrbach restaurant "Midi." "I am pleased that we come together here in such a beautiful setting and are treated to the finest delicacies," welcomed district mayor Roland Weber the citizens of St. Ingbert.
All districts are included
The interesting offerings of the project supported by AWO Saarland and the city of St. Ingbert range from excursions and tours to literary evenings, art and cultural events, and workshops, as well as communal lunches with shuttle service under the motto "On Wheels to Eat." In cooperation with the senior advisory board and other partners, a diverse program is put together as needed in the districts. "The project is now attractive for all senior citizens in St. Ingbert," says Hans Bur, head of the senior advisory board.
