Already on Wednesday, 27th July 2022, Minister President Mrs. Anke Rehlinger visited the company Streetbuzz Distribution GmbH in the district of Rilchingen-Hanweiler during her summer tour together with Mayor Rainer Lang.
The company Streetbuzz Distribution GmbH is a globally active enterprise and distributes construction and spare parts for two-stroke, four-stroke, and gear mopeds, as well as for Vespa and classic scooters. Two own brands are also developed at the Kleinblittersdorf site in these areas. Currently, the company employs 67 people, half of whom come from Germany and half from France. “Streetbuzz Distribution GmbH is a good example of successful cross-border cooperation. The Franco-German partnership is lived here every day, because it is primarily the personal contacts that turn strangers into friends,” says Rehlinger.
On Monday, August 1, 2022, the Minister for the Environment, Climate Protection, Mobility, Agriculture and Consumer Protection, as well as Justice, Ms. Petra Berg, made a stop at the Hartungshof and the biosphere manufactories in the district of Bliesransbach.
The Gut Hartungshof, a farmstead from the 19th century, was taken over by the Keßler family in 1991. The estate now covers a total of 364 hectares, including 266 hectares of arable land and 98 hectares of grassland, as well as an additional 40 hectares of forest and 20 hectares of photovoltaic systems, along with a boarding stable for around 50 horses with an indoor riding arena. In 2020, the core business was converted to organic farming.
Furthermore, two regional manufacturers are also located at Hartungshof. The Bliesgau oil mill (producing oil from, for example, thistles, black cumin, flax, and camelina, as well as poppy) and MaLi’s Délices – Gourmet Manufacturer (producing spreads, fruit jellies, chutneys, caramel spreads, and pestos). These products can be purchased on-site in the farm shop.
The President of the State Parliament, Ms. Heike Becker, visited our community on Monday, 08.08.2022, and together with Mayor Rainer Lang, toured the Wintringer Hof as well as the Bürgersolaranlage Hartungshof, also located in the district of Bliesransbach.
The Wintringer Hof is managed as a Bioland farm by Lebenshilfe Obere Saar e. V. It is well known beyond the borders of Saarland for its Bioland farm, farm shop, country inn, and the cultural site Wintringer Chapel. These stand for ecological (organic), social (inclusive), regional, and artistic values. During a tour of the Wintringer Hof, with interesting conversations about the work of people with disabilities and information about ecological farming, a lively exchange concluded with a small snack at the country inn.
Subsequently, Ms. Becker visited the Bürger Solar Park Hartungshof, which is currently under construction. The company Greencells GmbH from Saarbrücken is currently building Saarland's largest solar park here on an area of around 21 hectares. After completion, the facility, consisting of approximately 34,000 solar modules, will generate nearly 21 megawatts of electricity. According to Greencells, over the planned 20-year operational period, more than 650,000 tons of CO2 can be saved.
