Economical Use of Drinking Water
As a result of the high temperatures in recent weeks, water consumption in our community has also increased significantly.
The groundwater extraction from the wells in the Itzbach Valley is operating at full capacity.
To avoid potential supply shortages in the event of prolonged dry weather, we kindly ask you to use our drinking water especially sparingly.
When watering the garden, please note the following:
- Plants in the garden should be watered in the morning preferably before sunrise or in the evening after sunset to avoid strong evaporation due to sunlight.
- It should not be watered by sprinklers, but with garden hoses placed close to the plants (example: drip irrigation).
- Do not mow the lawn too short and less frequently: A longer lawn retains moisture better and thus reduces the need for irrigation.
Please refrain from exchanging pool water, washing vehicles, or performing cleaning tasks using a high-pressure cleaner.
By taking these restrictions into account, you contribute to securing our drinking water supply and help prevent the need for corresponding bans to be imposed.
