In recent days and weeks, the municipality of Quierschied has increasingly received inquiries regarding the upcoming renewal of the railway overpass (EÜ) at Quierschied station by DB Netz AG. Therefore, the municipality has compiled the key facts (as of August 9, 2022):
Timeline 2022
Last Monday, August 8th, the construction company B+H Bau from Ettlingen, commissioned by DB Netz AG, began the preparatory construction work. These day-only works are expected to last until October 6th, 2022.
Night work is planned on the following days: on all weekends in October (7th to 9th, 14th to 16th, 21st to 23rd, and 28th to 31st) as well as on the second and fourth weekends in November (11th to 14th and 25th to 27th).
Between November 28, 2022, and January 13, 2023, the dismantling and demolition of the existing structure are to take place during daytime work. In exceptional cases and depending on the construction process, night work may also occur during this period if it is absolutely necessary for the progress of the work.
Traffic restrictions/road closures:
The road closures necessary due to the construction work on road L 262 (Am Bahnhof/Quierschieder Straße) will begin in October 2022 and are expected to last until the end of September 2023. Initially, partial road closures will be implemented. The full closure in the area of the bridge structure is expected to take place from mid/end of November 2022 after the installation of the temporary bridges. More detailed information about the road closures will be provided by DB Netz AG in mid-September 2022.
The detour for public traffic during this time runs from Maybach via Sulzbach to Hühnerfeld, and from Hühnerfeld via the L 127.
