After the criticism of the keeping of foxes for tracking systems, the Neunkirchen Zoo has offered to accommodate them in its enclosure. "We welcome this species-appropriate keeping of the foxes," said the deputy state chairman Marcel Mucker. Otherwise, the foxes would be kept in private enclosures in Rhineland-Palatinate.
PETA had previously reported several slaughter facilities without success. These are reported to the veterinary authorities and regularly inspected.
The FDP Saar therefore sees PETA's opposition as mere symbolic politics against fox hunting.
