306 new confirmed corona cases – incidence drops to around 400The health department of the regional association reports 306 new corona cases today and from the weekend (as of August 8, 4 p.m.). This is the lowest Monday value since the end of May. According to internal calculations, the number of newly reported cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days continues to fall to 403.1.
7-day total of new infections by cities and municipalitiesIn the past seven days, 1,320 people in the regional association have been infected with the coronavirus. Of these, 768 live in Saarbrücken, 130 in Völklingen, 79 in Sulzbach, 57 in Püttlingen, 54 in Riegelsberg, 53 in Quierschied, 52 in Kleinblittersdorf, 47 in Heusweiler, 46 in Friedrichsthal, and 34 in Großrosseln.
Corona case numbers since the beginning of the pandemic
In total, there are 124,139 confirmed cases in the regional association that have tested positive since the beginning of the pandemic. Of these, 67,473 are in the state capital and 56,666 in the nine surrounding towns and municipalities. The number of deaths associated with the coronavirus stands at 785.
