Wadgassen (OTS)
Officers from the Saarlouis Police Station were alerted on Saturday around 12:30 pm because a 22-year-old man was harassing his ex-partner. The incident took place in the parking lot of the outlet center in Wadgassen. When the police arrived on the scene, the perpetrator prevented the 18-year-old ex-partner from leaving her car and continued to hold her against her will inside the vehicle. Since he did not respond to the officers' urgent requests and refused to let go of the woman, the police had to use force, removing him from the victim's car and bringing him to the ground. During this, the man kicked and struck the officers, which led to him being handcuffed and additional officers arriving on the parking lot to assist. One policeman sustained a scraped knee while restraining the offender. The 22-year-old perpetrator was initially taken to a holding cell at the Saarlouis Police Station and was subsequently transferred to a detention facility due to an existing arrest warrant against him.
