At the container sites, citizens can dispose of paper and cardboard in large paper containers that do not fit into the household blue bin. Unfortunately, recently a significantly higher amount of "wrong waste" has been found in the paper containers again, including used oil.
Used oil is, on the one hand, a hazardous material: it can ignite and causes unpleasant odors in the immediate vicinity. Additionally, it can seep into the ground and contaminate it. On the other hand, oil waste, like any other waste except paper and cardboard, makes containers worthless. Paper waste is a valuable material that can be sold. A portion of the proceeds is used to cover the waste collection fees of citizens. Every unsellable container thus increases costs for all citizens.
Therefore, the waste management operation St. Ingbert (ABBS) addresses all citizens: "Please dispose of only paper and cardboard in the containers. For all other recyclables, special containers or bins are available at the recycling center!"
Please dispose of hazardous substances at the eco-mobile!
The next hazardous waste collection by the Ökomobil will take place on Saturday, September 3rd, from 10 AM to 2 PM, in the parking lot at the Mühlwaldstadion.
Delivery of paints: Only solvent-based and not yet dried paint coatings are classified as hazardous waste. Dried paints and commonly used water-based binders, wall paints, varnishes, and dispersion paints, which are mostly used in private households, are non-toxic and can be disposed of in regular household waste even in their liquid state.
The hazardous waste collection service via the Ökomobil in St. Ingbert by ABBS is exclusively available to residents of St. Ingbert.
