Today, the Health Department of the Regional Association reports 189 new coronavirus cases (as of August 4, 4 p.m.). According to internal calculations, the number of newly reported cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days continues to fall to 454.4.
The health department was informed of two deaths today. On July 30th, a 74-year-old patient died from or with Corona. Already on July 26th, a 93-year-old female patient who had previously tested positive for the coronavirus passed away. The number of deaths related to the coronavirus rises to 785.
7-day total of new infections by cities and municipalities In the past seven days, 1,488 people in the regional association have been infected with the coronavirus. Of these, 843 live in Saarbrücken, 134 in Völklingen, 90 in Sulzbach, 70 in Quierschied, 69 in Püttlingen, 64 in Heusweiler, 72 in Kleinblittersdorf, 52 in Friedrichsthal, 48 in Großrosseln, and 46 in Riegelsberg.

In total, there are 123,650 confirmed cases in the regional association, which have tested positive since the beginning of the pandemic. Of these, 67,192 are in the state capital and 56,458 in the nine surrounding towns and municipalities.
