286 new confirmed corona cases – incidence rate falls below 500 markThe health department of the regional association reports 286 new corona cases today (as of August 3, 4 p.m.). The number of newly reported cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days thus continues to fall to 496.2 according to internal calculations.
7-day total of new infections by cities and municipalitiesIn the past seven days, 1,625 people in the regional association have been infected with the coronavirus. Of these, 919 live in Saarbrücken, 153 in Völklingen, 95 in Sulzbach, 84 in Quierschied, 79 in Püttlingen, 72 in Heusweiler, 67 in Kleinblittersdorf, 57 in Friedrichsthal, 52 in Großrosseln, and 47 in Riegelsberg.
Corona case numbers since the beginning of the pandemic
In total, the regional association has 123,461 confirmed cases that have tested positive since the beginning of the pandemic. Of these, 67,084 are from the state capital and 56,377 from the nine surrounding towns and municipalities. The number of deaths related to the coronavirus stands at 783.
