In summer, most native wild herbs bloom. Many of them now have their highest concentration of active ingredients. On Saturday, August 20, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Hochwald Tourism – Municipality of Weiskirchen, in cooperation with the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park, is offering a wild herb hike. The meeting point is the Wild and Hiking Park Weiskirchen in front of the Wildpark-Alm. During this approximately 2-hour hike, we will discover native summer wild herbs together with wild herb expert Yasemin Bier. In the forest, especially along paths and in clearings, we will encounter a great variety of wild herbs and medicinal plants. Is this plant edible there? What does St. John's Wort look like? How these summer herbs such as coltsfoot, lady's mantle, meadowsweet, St. John's Wort, nettle & co can benefit health and how these tasty and delicious wild plants are used can be explored during the wild herb excursion. Interested in nature's treasures? Information and registration are available from Hochwald Tourism at Tel.: 06876 / 70937 as well as by email at hochwald-touristik@weiskirchen.de. The participation fee is €10.00. Please wear weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy shoes or hiking boots, and bring enough drinks. Yasemin Bier, Hochwald Tourism, and the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park look forward to your visit.
On August 27, another wild herb excursion will take place.
