For the third year in a row, the Multigenerational House (MGH) of the city of Püttlingen is hosting the project "Border Experiences" with various excursions for young and old. On Saturday, July 23, 2022, a day trip to the recreational area "Jägersburger Weiher" near Homburg was on the agenda. The special feature of this day: the participants planned and organized the trip independently. The MGH team had already set the destination at the beginning of the year to kick off the project. Afterwards, the staff helped gather information on various leisure options, easy and challenging hiking routes, as well as cozy places to stop for a break. But only at a joint planning evening did those present decide how they wanted to spend the day. The result was a colorful program promising variety for every generation. In small groups, fearless climbers, experienced hikers, leisurely strollers, and culinary enthusiasts aged between 19 and 80 came together to explore the diversity of the recreational area. A shared lunch eventually brought the travelers back together. With a view of the Bruckenweiher Lake, they ended the day at the blockhouse before the group set off on the return journey in the self-organized carpools. Together, the participants managed to organize a thoroughly successful day trip, perfectly embodying the Multigenerational House’s motto: "Together - For Each Other."
