The health department of the Saarpfalz district reminds that the reporting deadline according to the Measles Protection Act for community and healthcare facilities has not been extended beyond July 31, 2022.
This means that from August 1 onwards, persons (employees and care recipients) must be reported by the facility management to the health department if no proof of measles protection has been provided in accordance with the IfSG.
A specially established department will take care of these reports in the health department in the future. A specific reporting portal is planned, through which reports can be submitted digitally going forward. Further information will be sent to the facility managements promptly.
Background
The law aims to promote protection against measles in kindergartens, schools, and other communal facilities as well as in medical institutions. Therefore, it requires that all children from the age of one year, upon entry into kindergarten, daycare, or school, present the measles vaccinations recommended by the Standing Committee on Vaccination. Persons born after 1970 who work in communal or medical facilities, such as educators, teachers, daycare providers, and medical staff, must also show proof of measles protection. Asylum seekers and refugees must also have appropriate vaccination protection four weeks after being admitted to a communal accommodation.
