The health department of the regional association reports 764 new Corona cases today (as of July 25, 4 p.m.). The number of confirmed Corona cases in Saarbrücken is estimated to be 1,659 according to internal calculations (as of July 25, 4 p.m.). Of the 764 new Corona cases, around 35 percent affect the age group of 20 to 40 years and 29 percent the age group of 40 to 60 years. With around 13 percent, the proportion of those under 20 years of age remains the lowest.
The health department was informed of four deaths today. On this day, an 85-year-old female patient died from or with Corona. Already on Saturday, two female patients aged 24 and 84, as well as a 64-year-old male patient, who were previously tested positive for the coronavirus, passed away. The number of deaths related to the coronavirus rises to 777.
7-day total of new infections by cities and municipalitiesIn the past seven days, 2,975 people in the regional association have been infected with the coronavirus. Of these, 1,659 live in Saarbrücken, 350 in Völklingen, 190 in Püttlingen, 141 in Kleinblittersdorf, 116 in Heusweiler, 115 in Quierschied, 113 in Riegelsberg, 110 in Sulzbach, 91 in Großrosseln, and 90 in Friedrichsthal.

In total, there are 120,867 confirmed cases in the regional association, which have tested positive since the beginning of the pandemic. Of these, 65,653 are in the state capital and 55,214 in the nine surrounding towns and municipalities.
