15.07.2022, Saarlouis. The demand aggregation by Deutsche Glasfaser in Sankt Ingbert and the districts of Sankt Ingbert has ended. The reason for this is the overall insufficient demand from the citizens in the project area. “We deeply regret this decision,” says Björn Symanzik, project manager at Deutsche Glasfaser.
“Due to the currently low number of contract signings at this time, we have made the difficult decision to withdraw from Sankt Ingbert and its districts,” says project manager Björn Symanzik. “We have invested a lot of time and energy into the project. But ultimately, the residents decide for themselves. We also regret this because we are leaving behind citizens in the community who supported the fiber optic expansion during the first weeks of the demand aggregation,” Björn Symanzik continues. Deutsche Glasfaser has been committed to privately expanding a pure fiber optic network in Sankt Ingbert and its districts to homes, businesses, schools, and kindergartens – without any expansion costs for municipalities and customers, and without the use of taxpayer money.
Since profitability can no longer be ensured due to insufficient demand, Deutsche Glasfaser is temporarily suspending the project. Consequently, the network provider Deutsche Glasfaser is withdrawing as an investor from Sankt Ingbert and the Sankt Ingbert districts.
The customer orders received so far are therefore null and void and will not be accepted by Deutsche Glasfaser. Due to the lack of a contract conclusion, the customer incurs no obligations towards Deutsche Glasfaser. "Whether we will make a new attempt at a later date, we do not want to rule out and will then examine," adds Björn Symanzik.
