The health department of the regional association reports 485 new coronavirus cases today (as of July 15, 4 p.m.). According to internal calculations, the number of newly reported cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days rises slightly to 1,030.5. Of the 485 new coronavirus cases, nearly 30 percent each affect the age groups 20 to 40, 40 to 60, and over 60 years. At around 16 percent, the share of those under 20 remains the lowest.
7-day total of new infections by cities and municipalitiesIn the past seven days, 3,375 people in the regional association have been infected with the coronavirus. Of these, 1,755 live in Saarbrücken, 347 in Völklingen, 236 in Püttlingen, 180 in Sulzbach, 177 in Kleinblittersdorf, 152 in Quierschied, 138 in Riegelsberg, 137 in Heusweiler, 127 in Großrosseln, and 126 in Friedrichsthal.
Corona case numbers since the beginning of the pandemic
In total, there are 117,123 confirmed cases in the regional association that have tested positive since the beginning of the pandemic. Of these, 63,595 are in the state capital and 53,528 in the nine towns and municipalities in the surrounding area. The number of deaths related to the coronavirus stands at 764.
