The Health Department of the Regional Association reports 605 new coronavirus cases today (as of July 14, 4 p.m.). According to internal calculations, the number of newly reported cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days has thus slightly decreased to 1,025. Of the 663 new coronavirus cases, around 31 percent each concern the group aged 40 to 60 and the group aged 20 to 40. With around 17 percent, the proportion of those under 20 remains the lowest.
7-day total of new infections by cities and municipalitiesIn the past seven days, 3,357 people in the regional association have been infected with the coronavirus. Of these, 1,712 live in Saarbrücken, 346 in Völklingen, 240 in Püttlingen, 181 in Sulzbach, 171 in Kleinblittersdorf, 155 in Quierschied, 148 in Heusweiler, 144 in Riegelsberg, 135 in Großrosseln, and 125 in Friedrichsthal.
Corona case numbers since the beginning of the pandemic
In total, the regional association has 116,638 confirmed cases that have tested positive since the beginning of the pandemic. Of these, 63,333 are in the state capital and 53,305 in the nine surrounding towns and municipalities. The number of deaths related to the coronavirus stands at 764.
