The Club of Friends of FV Eppelborn had invited last Sunday, and numerous sports enthusiasts from Eppelborn, including Mayor Andreas Feld, First Deputy Christian Ney, Local Mayor Berthold Schmitt, and Günter Schmitt, one of the chairmen of the Eppelborn football club, came to the traditional stadium festival at the Illtalstadion in bright sunshine.
The guests were welcomed by the deputy chairman of the Club of Friends of the FVE and judge at the Federal Constitutional Court, Peter Müller.
The program included sociability and entertainment, as numerous culinary specialties were offered and, just in time for the start of the season, the new additions to the 1st and 2nd teams were introduced.
The 1st team, led by Sebastian Kleer, can look forward to a total of seven new players, and Jens Schlemmer, coach of the 2nd team, can also plan for nine new players in the new season.
In the friendly match in the afternoon between Eppelborn and Quierschied, the Eppelborn players ultimately had to accept a 2-3 defeat.
The First Deputy Mayor wished the teams a successful and injury-free season in conclusion.
