It's that time again! Oberwürzbach clubs will show their best side on July 16 and 17 and warmly invite all guests from near and far to join the celebrations. The festival traditionally starts on Saturday at 5 p.m. with a church service, musically accompanied by the orchestra community "Music Unites" Oberwürzbach. Afterwards, local mayor Lydia Schaar will officially open the village festival, with musical support from "Music Unites." The festival weekend kicks off with the tapping of the keg. On Sunday, there will be plenty of brass music for visitors throughout the day. The Hochscheid-Reichenbrunn music club invites everyone to the stage in front of the mayor's office for the morning pint. On both evenings, live bands will heat things up musically: Five For You (54U) and Refresh on Saturday, Memories Remain and Ayers Rockt on Sunday.
In addition to the fair, there are special activities for children in the festival area on Sunday afternoon. From 2 to 4 pm, pony rides; at 2 pm, Kamishibai storytelling with "Leo Lausemaus"; and at 4 pm, "Gustav Wurm and the Parcel" as a puppet show. The program is complemented by a flea market organized by the local parish library. The Oberwürzbach local history museum is open on Sundays from 2 to 6 pm.
Also this year, there will be a special bus service that safely transports guests to Oberwürzbach and back home again.
Traditionally, the fair takes place on the square in front of the Oberwürzbachhalle, featuring bumper cars, a children's carousel, sweets, and toys, continuing until and including Monday.
