This year's Homburg city football championships for active players will take place on the artificial turf pitch of SV Bruchhof-Sanddorf in the Kehrberg Arena. The club had already been awarded the event in 2020 on the occasion of its 100th anniversary. However, the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is being held this year instead.
The games will take place from Wednesday, July 13, to Sunday, July 17, 2022. On Wednesday, July 13, the city championships will be opened at 6 p.m. with the match between SV Beeden and FC 08 Homburg II. At 7 p.m., SV Reiskirchen will face FSV Jägersburg, who are also the defending champions. The final match will be at 8 p.m., between TuS Lappentascherhof and SV Kirrberg.
One day later, on Thursday, July 14th, the match between SV Genclerbirligi and SV Schwarzenbach will kick off at 6 PM. At 7 PM, the host SV Bruchhof-Sanddorf will face SG Erbach, and at 8 PM Spvgg. Einöd will play against SG Union Homburg-TuS Wörschweiler.
On Friday, July 15, 2022, starting at 7 p.m., the ceremonial toast for the 100th anniversary of the SV Bruchhof-Sanddorf club will take place on the club grounds.
The city championships will continue on Saturday from 2 p.m. with the quarterfinal and semifinal matches. The third-place match starts on Sunday at 4 p.m. The final of this year’s Homburg city championship for active players will take place immediately afterwards. The playing time is 2 x 25 minutes each. The final will be played over 2 x 45 minutes.
SV Bruchhof-Sanddorf would be pleased to welcome numerous spectators in the Kehrberg Arena. Food and drinks are well provided for.
