Helma Wagner has been a "tireless advocate" for 20 years, dedicated to the concerns of people with disabilities in the municipality of Illingen. The primary goal is the unrestricted participation of disabled individuals both in their daily lives and in society. Due to various limitations, these people have so far not been able to participate in social life to the same extent as healthy individuals. With an aging population, their numbers are sure to increase in the future. Therefore, from the very beginning of her work, raising public awareness of the concerns of people with disabilities has also been a priority for Helma Wagner.
There have been many developments, and it can be stated that awareness of the issue has significantly increased in the municipality of Illingen. For years, there has been the brochure "Guide," which provides information on where and to whom one can access barrier-free (doctors, shops, recreational facilities, etc.). In addition, Mrs. Wagner has been and continues to be involved in all construction measures of the municipality of Illingen. This ensures that the concerns of disabled people are incorporated into the planning. Her work is also complemented by the collaboration with the senior citizens' advisory council, which she has chaired for 10 years.
For her tireless dedication, both in the outgoing individual case counseling (home visits) and in public matters, Mayor Dr. Armin König thanked her most sincerely. He expressed his greatest respect for her commitment, which she carries out with great passion. With her calm, factual, and above all competent manner, she is a real asset to the community and its citizens.
