Being mobile by bike and effortlessly conquering every incline – the boom of e-bikes has led to an increasing presence of these bicycles in road traffic. However, the switch from muscle power to electric power also carries risks and pitfalls.
The Office for Youth, Seniors and Social Affairs, in cooperation with the Saarland Traffic Safety Advisory Service, is offering a free, approximately two-hour traffic safety training for riding e-bikes on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. Participants will meet at 2 p.m. with their e-bikes on the premises of the Youth Traffic School, Liegnitzer Str. 13 in Homburg-Erbach. Taking into account the hygiene regulations in effect at that time, there will first be a brief theoretical introduction. Afterwards, the individual settings of the bicycles will be inspected before moving on to practical riding exercises on the training course. Wearing a bicycle helmet during the riding exercises is mandatory.
Even those who have been cycling for many years can certainly learn something new and, for example, learn to react better in critical situations in road traffic.
The number of participants is limited. Therefore, a prior, binding registration is required. Registration is now possible with Karin Schwemm, Tel.: 06841 101 117. If there is high demand, another date will be offered.
