The Lesedino reading competition for 4th-grade classes of Saarland elementary schools is one of the most important events in the field of reading promotion in Saarland. This year, it is taking place for the 22nd time and is an indispensable part of school life for many elementary schools. The reading competition is the only state-wide reading competition for elementary schools conducted throughout Germany.
Despite the Corona crisis, 124 schools participated in the 2021/22 competition round. However, in the past two years, the competition had to be canceled after the school champions' performances due to the pandemic. This year, the state final can finally take place again. It will be held on:
Monday, July 11, from 3:00 PM
Ministry of Education and Culture (Halls)
Trierer Straße 33, 66111 Saarbrücken.
In the first round, the 11 finalists from the regional competitions will read a text of their own choice; in the second round, they will read a text unknown to them. After the jury's decision, Minister of Education and Culture Christine Streichert-Clivot will present the awards at around 4:30 p.m.
