At noon on 02.07.2022 around 12:20 p.m., officers from the Nordsaarland police station were called to a supermarket in a district of Weiskirchen. A couple (man/woman) had pushed a fully loaded shopping cart with goods worth a total of 307 euros outside to the parking lot without having paid for the items, apparently to load them into their vehicle. When they were stopped by an employee of the store, they left the scene with their car before the police arrived. Particularly serious: The same couple had already stolen goods from the supermarket in the same manner about 2 weeks earlier. The 56-year-old woman involved was later found at her residence in Weiskirchen-Thailen. Her companion, a 62-year-old man from Weiskirchen-Thailen, has not yet been located. The woman denied any intention to steal. Both incidents were recorded by the store’s video camera, confirming the reported facts, so that both individuals will receive, in addition to the relevant criminal charges, a ban from the store issued by the branch management.
