Saarbrücken's Mayor Uwe Conradt has described the future agreement for the ZF site in Saarbrücken as good news for the entire German-French border region. It is also further proof of the company's forward-looking actions and its responsible approach to its employees.
The agreement once again demonstrates that ZF distinguishes itself as a modern and responsibly acting company. "ZF, together with the employee representatives, has developed a future agreement that takes the company's economic future into account while also offering the colleagues at the Saarbrücken site a perspective," says Uwe Conradt. "The future agreement means more than just job security for the 9,000 employees until the end of 2025. ZF also relies on the Saarbrücken plant beyond that, intending to locate products from the e-mobility sector here in the longer term. This is a clear commitment to the Saarbrücken business location and thus to the Saarland and our border region," explains Uwe Conradt.
He has always perceived ZF as a company that fosters open exchange with local stakeholders and the city administration and contributes to advancing Saarbrücken with innovative developments. One example is the Technology Center for Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, founded in 2019, where ZF strategically relies on a network of its own AI experts, collaborations with research institutions, and specialists from IT business partnerships in Saarbrücken. Another key investment in the location was the establishment of the training center. "ZF creates future prospects to secure and attract skilled workers; the company is the largest training provider in Saarbrücken as well as the first and currently only one to offer the new training occupation of production technologist, which emerged in the course of digitalization," says Conradt.
The mayor continued: "The company demonstrates as a flagship in the automotive sector how, together with its own colleagues and the local stakeholders, a successful future can be shaped jointly at one site."
Conradt emphasizes that he is looking forward to further exchange with those responsible.
