Regarding the aim of this year's award, Minister of Education Christine Streichert-Clivot states: "With the 8th Saarland Continuing Education Award, we want to honor and highlight innovative concepts in continuing education that were developed during the Corona crisis. Many continuing education institutions have developed new and innovative teaching and learning formats especially over the past two years, which will remain after the pandemic and from which we will benefit in the long term."
One insight, however, is that the direct and personal interaction when teaching and learning cannot be replaced. Nevertheless, digital formats have also established a firm place in further education in teaching and learning. Good practice examples illustrating "best practice" should clarify in which forms this takes place.
The Saarland Continuing Education Award is organized by BildungsNetzSaar on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Culture (MBK). Cooperation partners include the State Committee for Continuing Education and the Saarbrücken Regional Association. All continuing education institutions based in Saarland are eligible to participate. Results from continuing education measures that have not been completed or have been completed for no longer than one year can be submitted. Project ideas are not eligible for awards. The application should clearly indicate the objectives as well as the methodological and didactic conception and should not exceed ten pages. Supplementary documents such as press releases, images, or brochures may be attached to the application.
The application must be submitted in writing or by email to BildungsNetzSaar by July 15, 2022. The contact person is Elke Rieder, Haldystraße 1b, 66123 Saarbrücken, phone: 0681 99270-10, email: info@bildungsnetz-saar.de.
The award is decided by an independent expert jury. It includes representatives from science, business and chambers, the State Committee for Continuing Education, as well as members of the Saarland Parliament.
There will be a 1st prize (€2,500), a 2nd prize (€1,500), and a 3rd prize (€1,000) awarded. The award ceremony will take place on October 14, 2022, at 3:00 PM at the VHS Center at Schlossplatz in Saarbrücken.
