On such a weekend, the young people live in the equipment house like in a professional fire station. They cooked together, handled numerous operations, strengthened team spirit, and spent many pleasant hours together.
During the operations, the junior firefighters had to remove a spill of operating materials and secure the hazard area, search for and rescue a helpless person in the forest, rescue an animal in distress, fight a car fire, a grass fire, as well as various other fires. All operations are simulated during a professional firefighter day, so that the young people can carry them out safely yet efficiently.
As a special operation, a joint exercise of both fire districts took place at the elementary school in Uchtelfangen. This allowed the two simultaneous professional fire brigade days to be linked together.
In addition to the operations, various exercises were also scheduled to deepen their knowledge. A special highlight was the Youth Flame Level 1 test, which the young participants mastered with flying colors. The children and teenagers were visibly enthusiastic about the challenging weekend, which demanded a lot of knowledge, but also fun and teamwork from them.
