On Saturday evening, June 25, 2022, around 8:00 PM, a high-profile brawl occurred at the Neunkirchen city festival as part of the celebrations for "100 Years of Neunkirchen" on the festival grounds.
Due to family disputes, two family clans came into conflict. The verbal arguments escalated rapidly and turned into a physical altercation. The initially tumultuous situation was quickly brought under control by the police presence on the festival grounds and the involvement of additional support forces. Several persons involved in the altercation sustained minor injuries (abrasions). Uninvolved third parties, according to current knowledge, were not injured. Several criminal investigations have been initiated on suspicion of bodily harm / serious bodily harm. The investigations are ongoing in this regard.
The further course of the city festival, including the following Sunday, proceeded without any further incidents.
