Around 05:15 a.m., the Saarbrücken City Police Station received a report that a person was causing a disturbance at the property 'Großherzog-Friedrich-Straße 109'. Upon arrival, police officers found a male individual on site. He appeared to be in a state of psychological distress and was subsequently taken into police custody. During the operation, officers detected smoke coming from a section of the building. The related smoldering fire was extinguished by the requested Saarbrücken professional fire brigade. No persons were injured due to the fire. Property damage occurred, the extent of which is currently unknown. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The criminal investigation unit has taken over the inquiries into the cause and a possible connection between the events. Road traffic on 'Großherzog-Friedrich-Straße' was slightly affected for the duration of the operation.
