At the composting facility in Gersweiler, the Central Municipal Waste Disposal Company (ZKE) offers wood chips in grain size 0/40 at a price of 25 euros per cubic meter while supplies last. Customers can also purchase certified compost in organic quality there.
Wood chips beautify flower beds
The wood chips are produced by the municipal utility company itself from various types of wood delivered by the Office for Urban Green Spaces and Cemeteries. Wood chips are used in the garden as visually appealing mulch to prevent the growth of weeds and to improve soil conditions. The ZKE offers the wood chips, like compost, for self-service filling. Interested parties therefore need to bring their own containers.
Saarbrücken Compost – natural and versatile
The popular soil conditioner compost is produced by ZKE exclusively from green waste such as shrubs, branches, or leaves. Biowaste is not used. The Saarbrücken bio-compost carries a quality seal that guarantees a flawless quality product at all times. The compost soil is available at the ZKE waste disposal facilities in the 0/10 grain size for the price of one euro per 50 liters. Larger quantities or compost in other grain sizes are also available at the composting plant.
