On the morning of Tuesday, June 21, 2022, a 48-year-old woman from Dillingen was injured in a traffic accident on Holtzendorffer Street in Saarlouis. The suspected cause of the accident left the scene without permission shortly afterwards.
Around 11:35 a.m., the 48-year-old wanted to cross the red-colored bike/pedestrian path at the exit of the GLOBUS self-service store. In doing so, she was apparently overlooked by a car driver who wanted to turn right from the GLOBUS exit onto Holtzendorffer Street. The woman fell to the ground, was slightly injured, and later had to receive medical treatment.
The alleged cause of the accident then got out of her vehicle and inquired about the condition of the pedestrian. After a brief conversation, however, the car driver got back into her car and drove away.
According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle was said to be a dark blue VW Golf or Polo.
Description of the vehicle driver:
The police are now seeking additional witnesses who observed the accident and may be able to provide information about the identity of the fleeing car driver. They are asked to contact the Saarlouis police station at the phone number 06831 / 9010.
