Also today (June 19, 2022), about 250 people demonstrated in Saarbrücken under the motto "Peace / Freedom / Self-determination." A counter-assembly was registered by "Die Partei" under the motto "Vigil against absurd demonstrations of confused walkers with too much leisure time and alarming herd behavior." The demonstration march "Peace / Freedom / Self-determination," with about 250 participants, began at 2:45 pm with an opening rally and from 4:15 pm proceeded from Landwehrplatz through downtown Saarbrücken back to Landwehrplatz, where the closing rally took place. This ended around 6:30 pm. For the safety of the demonstrators, the procession was accompanied by police forces along the entire route. Despite short-term closures along the route, there were no significant traffic disruptions in downtown Saarbrücken. Upon encountering eight people from the counter-assembly at Gustav-Regler-Platz, there were no major provocations or disturbances. The majority of the demonstration participants belonged to the conservative spectrum.
