The Corona regulation was adjusted today in the Council of Ministers and extended by nearly two weeks. Through some deletions without substantive changes, better readability of the legal regulation was achieved. The regulation comes into effect on June 19, 2022, and expires at the end of June 30, 2022. The shortened duration was chosen in order to be able to respond to the still pending amendment or extension of the national testing regulation.
There is a substantive change in the current version of the legal ordinance with the reintroduction of testing requirements in medical and nursing facilities. These were previously recorded separately in the Saarland testing strategy, which will be discontinued from Sunday. The regulations themselves remain the same. Accordingly, for example, a testing requirement still applies to visitors of care and nursing homes and hospitals.
"Dear people of Saarland: Please continue to protect your fellow citizens during the summer months. The implementation of general hygiene recommendations such as testing and wearing protective masks remains central to combating the coronavirus. Please continue to take advantage of the wide vaccination offer in Saarland," appeals Health Minister Dr. Magnus Jung in conclusion.
