St. Ingbert intends to participate in the European Mobility Week again this year and is looking for interested cooperation partners.
European Mobility Week - EMW for short - is an international campaign by the EU Commission and has been offering municipalities across Europe the perfect opportunity since 2002 to bring sustainable mobility closer to their citizens on site. Each year, European Mobility Week is dedicated to a special theme that focuses attention on a particular aspect of sustainable mobility.
Under the motto "Better Connected," this year the focus is on connecting places, but also on connecting people with each other – whether neighbors, institutions, or different planning levels. The Europe-wide thematic focus can be addressed within the St. Ingbert Mobility Week 2022, although this does not mean a strict limitation to these areas. Interesting synergies can also arise through links with other cross-cutting themes, such as environmental and climate protection or health promotion.
Last year, St. Ingbert participated in the EMW for the first time and, together with actors from the BUND Regional Group Bliesgau, the ADFC St. Ingbert, and Fuß e.V., organized a vibrant event program. The parish of Hl. Ingobertus and the Saarpfalz district also took part.
"I believe we successfully celebrated the first European Mobility Week in St. Ingbert in 2021. In collaboration with our partners, we managed to offer a program point every day during the campaign period and promote sustainable mobility," explains the city mobility manager Dennis Becker.
The mobility manager now wants to give interested stakeholders the opportunity to enter into preparations for EMW 2022 through an initial kickoff exchange and therefore invites them to an online meeting on Monday, 27.06.2022 at 6:30 pm. On this date, he will provide information about the general background and goals of EMW, review the first EMW in St. Ingbert, and would like to discuss possible actions for this year with the stakeholders.
"Everyone who wants to enrich the European Mobility Week in St. Ingbert with an activity is invited to participate - clubs, associations, initiatives, companies, shops - but also schools and kindergartens can get involved," explains Becker. The wide range of participating actors and the diversity of events are intended to create an interactive and varied program for the entire week.
Those interested may register for the online exchange on Monday, 27.06.2022, using the contact details below. The dial-in link will then be sent by email.
