A traffic accident, followed by a motorcycle rider fleeing the scene, occurred on Sunday evening (12.06.2022) at around 10:10 PM on the L 174 in Dillingen, near the exit to the "Kaufland" shopping center.

The unknown driver of a motorcycle initially traveled on Merziger Straße, coming from Dillingen, heading towards Merzig. Approximately 50 meters after leaving the town of Dillingen, the motorcycle overtook a white Seat Leon car with MZG district license plates traveling ahead. In doing so, the motorcycle crossed the solid center line and entered the oncoming lane. At that time, a 42-year-old man was driving his Ford Kuga towards Dillingen on that lane. To avoid a collision with the motorcycle, the 42-year-old suddenly steered his vehicle to the right and collided with the guardrail there.

The person responsible for the accident then left the scene on the motorcycle without permission, without allowing the necessary investigations to be made.

Property damage amounting to approximately 5,000 euros occurred to the Ford Kuga, and two guardrail elements were also damaged.

Persons or witnesses who can provide information about the traffic accident are requested to contact the Saarlouis Police Department at the phone number 06831 / 9010.
