In recent days, the responsible police precinct has once again intensified identity checks in downtown Saarbrücken. Also deployed was the "Search and Reconnaissance Unit for Street Crime (FASt)." The police officers focused on selected locations where there had been a high incidence of crimes and disturbances of public safety and order in the past.
In summary: The police have initiated four criminal complaints for violations of the Narcotics Act. This includes two on suspicion of drug trafficking. The apartments of the two suspects were searched and relevant evidence was secured.
During the controls, an 18-year-old adolescent was also apprehended and subsequently taken to the juvenile detention center in Lebach, after having been wanted for a long time.
The Saarbrücken City Police Department already announces that further targeted controls will take place in Saarbrücken to counteract crimes and disturbances in public spaces through intensive police measures.
