Precisely because the weather still has April moods, people are currently looking forward to summer with anticipation: numerous households in Sulzbach have already enjoyed various barbecue evenings, and the summery-sunny Salt and Herb Market took place in the urban area in mid-May – a small taste of good weather vibes. And with the calendar in mind, now is the perfect time to look forward to the "Sulzbach Cultural Summer," which begins on July 10, 2022, with its first musical event: "This year, it starts with a morning concert. For this, the red carpet will be rolled out for the performance area around the Salt Houses for the musical group 'Heart-Chor'," reveals Stefanie Bungart-Wickert from the Cultural Office, the organizer of the numerous events in the Sulzbach summer. Just a few days later, on July 13, it's the young generation's turn. "In cooperation with the JUZ, we are bringing the Rockmobile to us at the Salt Houses. Under the motto 'summer-sun-music-fun,' there will be plenty of homemade music for the youth, opportunities to chill, play table tennis or boules, and under guidance, to weave dense, truly flower-child style flower crowns," the organizer continues.
On July 22nd, the core of the cultural summer continues: “The Sulzbach Music Summer kicks off with a wide range of blues, pop, rock, soul, and chanson,” says Bungart-Wickert with a bright look, who does not want to reveal too much yet, as the cultural summer program booklet is currently in the works. Just one day later, on July 23rd, there will be a chanson evening with Susan Ebrahimi in the courtyard of the salt houses. And since by this time a lot of music will have already filled the air in the salt ensemble and many visitors will have had the urge to dance, on Saturday, July 30th there will be a linedance party that really gets the hips moving. To live music by the “Wild West Duo,” attendees are encouraged to stomp along – with or without a hand on their cowboy belt buckle. In addition to the musical offerings, the popular theater matinee of the “Theater Group 50+” will take place again on Sunday, August 21st. Furthermore, the four-day children’s holiday program invites kids to participate: “From August 22nd to 25th, everything will revolve around the theme of salt. Among other things, there will be a fairy tale workshop based on the Grimms’ ‘Salt Princess,’” says organizer Bungart-Wickert. Those who enjoy culinary delights and hiking will have fun on August 28th during the legendary “Gudd-Gess-Tour.” The grand finale of the cultural summer will then be marked by the thunderous jazz brunch with the Uni Big Band Homburg on September 4th, 2022, at 11 a.m.
