A special seminar brought together experts from the green space offices of seven municipalities in the district in Ensdorf last week. In theory and practice, the participants were introduced by Dr. Philipp Schönfeld, a renowned expert in "urban greenery," to the selection and planting of insect-friendly, low-maintenance perennial plants.
Over 700 flowering plants now enrich four formerly "abandoned" flower beds in the center of Ensdorf and beautify the townscape. More plantings will follow in the autumn. At this point, a heartfelt thank you to the many diligent helpers. Also to Ms. Monika Lambert-Debong from the Saarlouis district for her assistance with the organization and to the Ministry of the Environment for the promised financial support!
