Saarbrücken/Sulzbach (ots)
After a 71-year-old man was found dead in his apartment in Sulzbach on May 14, 2022 (see press release from May 15, 2022), the Saarland police are now again looking for witnesses.
As early as Monday, May 23, 2022, the Saarbrücken public prosecutor's office applied for the release of the 52-year-old man from Völklingen from pre-trial detention. Although the autopsy conducted in the meantime showed that the victim died from the stab wounds, the urgent suspicion against the person arrested shortly after the crime could no longer be substantiated according to the current investigations of the department for crimes against life.
In this context, the police once again ask witnesses who made any suspicious observations around May 14, 2022, in the area of the multi-family property at Sulzbachtalstraße No. 38 to contact the criminal investigations unit at the phone number 0681/962-2133. In particular, witnesses are sought who saw a person with an injury to the fingers, hand, or forearm during the specified period.
A reward of 1,500 euros is offered for information leading to the resolution of the homicide.
