Referee attacked and slightly injured during football match

On Sunday, May 29, 2022, during the match between SV Waldhölzbach/Rappweiler 2 and SV Erbringen at the sports field in Losheim-Waldhölzbach, there was apparently an attack on the 66-year-old referee from Wadern. He reported to the Nordsaarland Police Station that in the 87th minute of the game (around 2:50 PM) he had called a foul, which resulted in a red card with a fine for a player of SV Erbringen. This player reportedly approached the referee angrily, pushed him with both hands against the chest, causing him to fall backward to the ground and hit his head on the floor. The victim suffered severe head and neck pain and had to go to the hospital for treatment and examination.
