On 28.05.2022 at approximately 01:25 a.m., it was reported via emergency call that someone in Wadern had left the roadway, collided with a car parked at the roadside as well as a garden wall, and then fled the scene. Following a witness tip, the fleeing car, which was heavily damaged at the front, was found in a driveway in the Wadern district of Dagstuhl. The 40-year-old driver was located shortly after in the garage there, significantly intoxicated. It turned out that the man had also lost his driver's license almost exactly one year ago due to a similar offense and had not regained it since. A blood sample was subsequently taken from him and the car keys were confiscated. The 40-year-old now faces several criminal proceedings.
