The Alte Schmelz in St. Ingbert is becoming an important attraction for startups and events throughout the Saarland with the CISPA Innovation Campus and the Cultural Center. "The state government's approval for CISPA was tied to the establishment of an urban district that offers a good quality of life," explains Mayor Dr. Ulli Meyer. "Culture and leisure are part of a good life. That is why I am pleased that we have found an experienced partner in Monika and Roman Hoffmann, who can manage the location reliably and with a future-oriented approach."
Monika and Roman Hoffmann are owners of THS Media, a service provider for event technology, as well as the event agency Plan Events, both based in St. Ingbert. They will invest a double-digit million amount to renovate the buildings of the Alte Schmelz into attractive event spaces. “The old industrial complex is the perfect place to locally combine business, culture, and creativity,” says Roman Hoffmann enthusiastically. “We are very grateful that the city council approved our concept almost unanimously.” The entire concept has been coordinated with the heritage protection authorities and approved by them, and preparatory work is in full swing so that it can start immediately once all contractual matters have been settled.
And this is how the renovation and use of the industrial buildings are planned:
Requests for events for the year 2023 are already being accepted.
„The entire site will become a hotspot for St. Ingbert, the neighboring towns, the CISPA Innovation Campus, and also for the Saarland region,“ emphasizes the investor. „We thank the city and the city council for their support and approval, the Ministry of Economic Affairs for standing by us with advice and assistance, and of course our employees who support us with great dedication and motivation.“ Speaking of employees: Such a large project can only be realized with many hands working together. „We need and want to strengthen our team with event technicians and event managers,“ Roman Hoffmann calls for applications with these words.
Mayor Dr. Ulli Meyer concludes the presentation of the concept with a cautious look to the future: "The living and working environment has already changed and will continue to evolve in the future. With the Cultural Center as a component of the CISPA Innovation Campus, we can keep pace with these changes and make St. Ingbert an attractive location for businesses and the cultural sector."
