On Thursday evening around 7:00 PM, a serious traffic accident occurs on Dr. Vogeler Street in Alt-Saarbrücken. A 51-year-old man was riding his motorcycle from the direction of Deutschmühlental towards Metzer Street when he presumably overlooked the green area of a pedestrian crossing due to inattention and excessive speed.
In the head-on collision, the driver was thrown into the air and only came to rest several meters away in the green strip. He sustained life-threatening injuries, which are currently being treated medically.
The route was closed for the duration of the accident investigation, including evidence collection.
