As early as 10:15 a.m., a gathering of approximately 600 predominantly younger people, some of whom were already significantly intoxicated, was observed at the station in Türksimühle. The individual groups were accompanied by the police on their further way towards Bostalsee. This allowed several imminent public order offenses to be prevented through appropriate warnings to potential offenders.
On a different route, which leads from the direction of Nonnweiler over a highway bridge across the A 62, a plastic bottle and a small leather ball were thrown towards the roadway. The ball hit the windshield of a passing car. No damage was caused to the vehicle. The 42-year-old driver, who was startled by the impact of the ball, reported the incident to the police. Charges will be filed against the two suspects, a 23-year-old man from the Trier-Saarburg district and a 24-year-old man from the municipality of Hermeskeil, who were identified by the police.
During the special operation, the North Saarland police recorded a total of 14 reports, including two for bodily harm with two persons admitted to hospital, and two reports for resistance or assault against law enforcement officers. A total of 40 officers from the Federal Police, State Police, the Nohfelden Public Order Office, and the Security Service of the St. Wendel district were involved in the operation. Additionally, a stationary emergency rescue station from the German Red Cross and the DLRG water rescue service were on site.
Remarkable was the high level of intoxication among a large number of visitors.
